Problem

You get occassional error's relating to LiveUpdate which incorrectly warns of low disk space even though there is plenty of space left, in this case about 65 gigabytes

It happens on Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE) 6.5.2 installed on Windows server 2008

No Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) or Symantec AntiVirus (SAV) client is installed on the server

Error

LiveUpdate has encountered a low disk space condition on one or more hard disks on your system

Environment

Windows server 2008 64 bit

SMSMSE 6.5.2

Cause

The cause is not known , but possibly it would be caused due to LiveUpdate itself being corrupted

Solution

The way I fixed this was to remove SMSMSE

Remove LiveUpdate

remove all folders associated with LiveUpdate if they not been removed by the uninstall

After removing everything, reinstall SMSMSE , this will also install LiveUpdate,
