Cannot 'Copy and Paste" value into Alert Variable Filter in Event Console

Problem

When creating an Event Console Alert Rule that includes an Alert Variable in the filter, it is currently not possible to "Copy and Paste" a value into the Alert Variable field, no values appear.

Error

"Copy and Paste" into Alert Variable filed as part of Event Console Alert Rule does not function. No values appear.

Symantec Management Platform 7.1

Cause

Under investigation.

Solution

The issue is to be addressed in a future release.

Valid workarounds are as follows:

1) Values will exist in this drop-down as long as the ec-alert_variable table contains data. You can scroll through the values in this drop-down to obtain the desired string.

2) You can delete and retype last string after paste, then the rule can by saved without error.
