When attempting to install Symantec System Recovery Management Solution (SSR-MS) 2011 on Windows 2008 R2 (with service pack 1 installed), the following warning is seen (see Figure 1 for more details):
This operating system or its service pack is not supported. Click OK to exit.
Windows 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 and SSR-MS 2011 (with no service pack).
SP1 for 2008 R2 was not supported with the initial version (10.0.0) of SSR-MS.
The same warning can also be seen when attempting to install SSR-MS on a domain controller which is also not supported (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH127098).
Support for Windows 2008 R2 SP1 was added with SP1 (10.0.1) for SSR-MS. Installation on 2008 R2 SP1 will need to be done using the SSR-MS 2011 SP1 media which is available via FileConnect ( https://fileconnect.symantec.com/).
