Issue

NDMP backups complete successfully and nothing is present under restore selections for some folders or volumes that contain large amounts of data (files or directories).  This is mostly seen with NDMP backups larget than 1TB and certian folders under the NDMP volumes that contain many directories or small files.

Environment

Windows 2008 with Backup Exec 2010

Solution

This issue is fixed in Hotfix 161270 in Backup exec version 2010 r3(See Related Articles section)

WORKAROUND:

Disable NDMP on the NDMP Server.

Perform CIFS  share backup of the data

Possibly break up the size of the backup by using exclusions and then backing the volume up again with a different set of exclusions so that all data is backed up but with each job being for less that 1TB of data.
