Unable to deploy Symantec System Recovery (SSR) agent through the standalone console/UI to Windows 7 and 2008R2 systems

Issue



Attempting to deploy the Symantec System Recovery (SSR) agent through the standalone console/UI to Windows 7 and 2008R2 systems generates a error and fails. Local install of SSR on these two OS installs successfully. Remote administration after local install is also successful.


Error



-Error E0D3EBC0: Cannot deploy the Agent to <SERVER_NAME>.
--<SERVER_NAME>,  Exception occurred: Attempt to push package to remote machine failed due to an invalid environment
The file download was aborted abnormally. The file is incomplete.
 


Environment



Push install to remote Windows 7, Windows 2008 from a SSR standalone console/UI


Cause



Symantec Technical Support does not support Symantec System Recovery 2011 Agent push installs to Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2.


Solution



Manually install the agent to computers that run Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2008 R2
