How to disable logging for Response Assessment Module (RAM) after logs have been generated for the reported issue.

Issue



After enabling logging for RAM issues and gathering the logs, it is imperative that we disable the logging. Else it consumes unwanted resources.


Solution



We need to change the value from Verbose to Error in the the RAM config files. Below is the example of error logging.

Note: XML data in config files is case sensitive. Always take a backup of the config files before making any change.

  <add key="Log.EventLogger.Severity" value="None" />
  <add key="Log.Severity" value="Error" />

For Response Assessment Module 10.5. We need to modify the changes in 'RAMServer.exe.Config' file present in <Installation Directory>\Program Files\Symantec\CCS\Response Assessment Module Server\Application Server Folder on the RAM Server.

For RAM 10.5 Web Portal. We need to make these changes in 'Web.Config' file present in <Installation Directory>\Program Files\Symantec\CCS\Response Assessment Module Server\WebClient Folder on the RAM Server.
