In the Symantec System Recovery 2011 Management Solution (SSRMS 2011) console, an error occurs when clicking on “Update Distribution Points” for older install packages.
Unable to update package distribution points for the package... Could not access package path.
This issue is seen after upgrading to SSRMS 2011 from older versions of the product, such as Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) and
LightsOut Restore (LOR). During upgrade, the old install package locations are deleted and the product creates new directories for the install packages. For example, for BESR 8.5, the packages are located in "\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec System Recovery Management Solution\web\softwaredelivery\lor\8.5" instead of "\Program Files\Altiris\Backup Exec System Recovery Management Solution\web\softwaredelivery\lor\8.5\." However, SSRMS 2011 still refers to the old install package locations, which do not exist.
1. Copy the install packages to the new location that SSRMS 2011 creates.
2. Change the default path to the new path.
3. Click “Update Distribution Points”.
4. Click “Save Changes”.
