Problem
Following a missed backup, the tray icon status still shows as 'Backed Up' (green tick) instead of 'Attention Needed' (orange exclamation mark).
If the Symantec System Recovery 2011 user interface (UI) is opened, the tray icon status is correctly updated to 'Attention Needed'. Also, if the mouse cursor is placed on the system tray icon, the status will change to 'Attention Needed'.
NOTE: In Symantec System Recovery Management Solution 2011 (SSR-MS) environments, this may cause client machines to show the incorrect status in the management console which in turn means that missed backups are not obvious to the administrator.
Solution
This issue is fixed in Service Pack 2 (10.0.2) for Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2011. SP2 is available via LiveUpdate or here: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH186176.
