Problem
How to create non-mirrored Data Change Map (DCM) logs in VERITAS Volume Replicator (VVR)
Solution
Mirroring is the default for DCM logs in VVR, but sometimes that is not desirable, e.g. if all the disks reside on underlying hardware RAID-5 (as opposed to Volume Manager RAID-5), then there will be greater than average disk contention. Having mirrored DCM logs in this sort of scenario would increase disk contention further.
Use the following command to create non-mirrored DCM logs:
vxassist -g <DiskGroup> addlog <volume name> logtype=dcm nlog=1
