Issue

While trying to uninstall GE 9.3.0 hard disk, we get the error that there may be a problem with MBR or the drive is encrypted even though the drive is completely decrypted.

Error

Error 25003 : GuardianEdge Hard Disk Cannot be uninstalled. There may be a problem with the master boot record, or encrypted data has been found on your disk.

Solution

We can use the upgrade command(see below) to install the same version of hard disk client again and then should be able to un-install and re-install the software.

MSIEXEC /i "[path]\GuardianEdge Drive Encryption client.msi" REINSTALL="ALL" REINSTALLMODE="vomus"
