Problem
VOM 3.1 Managed Host is in state Faulted: The xprtld process is not running on this host. Starting of xprtld hangs.
Error
Error V-383-1-850:Faulted - The xprtld process is not running on this host
Cause
Its cause is attributed to invalid entires of decommissioned VOM Central Server in sfm_resolv.conf. That xprtld hangs is due to a defect in xprtld and will be addressed in later version of VOM.
Solution
On the subject VOM Managed Host, as a work-around, please remove the following entries, related to the decommissioned VOM CS, for example "testvomcs.foo.com" from /etc/default/sfm_resolv.conf:
sfm://testvomcs.foo.com:5634/ = "";
[sfm://testvomcs.foo.com:5634/]
controller = https://10.10.102.40:5634/;
ping_freq = 300;
ip = 10.10.102.40;
mh_hostname = testmh1;
eat_data_dir = /var/opt/VRTSsfmh/sfm_testvomcs.foo.com/sec;
