Problem

On certain systems, a memory condition was resulting in a potention disruption to the operation of the Enterprise Vault Directory Service and un-expected behaviour in the Vault Administration Console.

Solution
To address the issue do either of the following:-
1. Install the attached EV8 SP5 hotfix on all Enterprise Vault servers running Enterprise Vault 8 SP5, Build 1048
How to install this hotfix:-
1. Stop the IIS Admin Service and all Enterprise Vault services on the EV server.
2. Once all services have stopped, take a backup copy of the file "DirectoryService.exe",
locatable in the Enterprise Vault installation folder (which by default is "C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault").
3. Copy the updated file "DirectoryService.exe", packaged in this Hotfix, to the Enterprise Vault installation folder to replace the original.
4. Re-start all Enterprise Vault services and the IIS Admin Service.
5. It may be necessary to restart the IIS Default Web Site after an IIS service restart. To do this, open IIS Manager and expand 'server name' > Web Sites > Default Web Site. Right Click 'Default Web Site' and select 'Start'.
How to uninstall this hotfix:-
1. Stop the IIS Admin Service and all Enterprise Vault services on the EV server.
2. Once all services have stopped, replace DirectoryService.exe with the original version.
4. Re-start all Enterprise Vault services and the IIS Admin Service.
5. It may be necessary to restart the IIS Default Web Site after an IIS service restart. To do this, open IIS Manager and expand 'server name' > Web Sites > Default Web Site. Right Click 'Default Web Site' and select 'Start'.
2. Upgrade all Enterprise Vault Servers to EV 9.0.2
