Scan Engine shows AV Scanning and URL Filtering as Not Licensed

Issue



In Symantec Scan Engine, when the customer installs the license file during or after a new install, only the AV Content and URL Content are showing as licensed. The AV Scanning and URL Filtering are showing as *Not Licensed*

 


Error



AV Scanning and URL Filtering are showing as *Not Licensed*.

 


Environment



Windows 2003/2008

 


Cause



The license used for Symantec Scan Engine is missing the Product license part. 

A renewed Content license may be missing the Product license part. If only the Content license is installed but not the Product license (that was obtained previously) AV Scanning (and possibly URL Filtering) may show up as *Not Licensed*.

 


Solution



Obtain a Product license from https://licensing.symantec.com or copy the Product license from the previous install.
