How to troubleshoot a freeze or spontaneous restart of Symantec Web Gateway (SWG) or Symantec Traffic Shaper (STS).

Symantec Web Gateway or Symantec Traffic Shaper became unresponsive at the command line interface. You seek to check the CPU temperature and other sensor data to determine if a hardware failure occurred.
In the event of a freeze, restart the SWG or STS appliance immediately to return it to service. To troubleshoot the freeze behavior, run the Dell Express hardware diagnostics to determine if a hardware error occurred. The Dell Express hardware diagnostics will also display the log entries within BIOS, including log entries from a hard reset.
BIOS log entries that indicate a hard reset and cite watchdog sensor 2 were initiated by the Linux based operating system. For these, contact Symantec Technical Support for further assistance. For all others, contact Dell for hardware troubleshooting.
