Issue

SQL is unable to successfully create the Full Text Indexes for the tables tblIntAnalysedItems_XX and tblIntItemCustomAttributes_XX, while the Accelerator client shows the Automatic categorization as 'Completed'.

Cause

A myriad of reasons can cause SQL to unsuccessfully create Full Text Indexes; most notably is Anti-Virus scanning.

Solution

1. Verify that Anti-Virus scanning is setup to exclude extension types and folders according to the Technote: symantec.com/docs/TECH176828
2.
Verify there is ample free space available for the Full-Text Index (FTI) folder/files (path is supplied in the results from the attached SQL query)
3. Verify SQL is running an Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator supported version.  symantec.com/docs/TECH38537
4.
If SQL is running in a cluster, verify that all servers in the cluster are running the same version of SQL.

Troubleshooting steps:
- Run the attached file 'Analytics_FTI_Status_V5.txt' against the Discovery Accelerator customer database(s) to display the condition of each FTI index

If the condition is 'Failed', the FTI will need rebuilding.  Perform the above mentioned steps prior to rebuild.

If the condition is 'Working or Failed', inspect the FTI and Populate Status Description as well as the % Complete.
If both Status Descriptions are in 'idle' state and % Complete is a 0%; Wait 15 minutes and run the query a second time.
If the columns do not change, the FTI will need rebuilding.  Perform the above mentioned steps prior to rebuild.

If the condition is 'Working or Failed', inspect the FTI and Populate Status Description as well as the % Complete.
If the % Complete is between 1% and 99%, the building of the FTI is in progress.

How to Rebuild SQL Full-Text Indexes (FTI) for Analytics-enabled Cases

The FTI's to be rebuilt are on tblIntAnalysedItems_X and tblIntItemCustomAttributes_X tables (the X is the CaseID of the Analytics-enabled Case). Go through the following steps for both these Tables.

To Rebuild the FTI for tblIntAnalysedItems_X:
1. Right-click the tblIntAnalysedItems_X Table > Full-Text Index > Properties.

2. Select the Columns page. Notice the "Primary Key" Unique Index is selected, this Index name starts with "PK_".  Also note the selected items in 'Available Columns' and the associated 'Type Column' values (ContentData and Subject). These will need to be re-selected/re-entered in the next steps.
Note: 'Language For Word Breaker' will automatically populate upon completion of the rebuild.

3. Right-click the tblIntAnalysedItems_X Table > Full-Text Index > click on Delete Full-Text Index. Respond accordingly to the prompt to delete the FTI. Close the status window upon deletion completion.

4. Right-click the tblIntAnalysedItems_X Table > Full-Text Index > Define Full-Text Index. This will start the FTI Wizard:
- Click Next at the FTI Wizard starting page.

- Select the Primary Index as the Unique Index (Starts with "PK_"), click Next.

- Select the 'Available Column' items as previously noted in step 2 above. Select the appropriate 'Type Column' values for
each selected 'Available Column' entry as noted in step 2 above (ContentData and Subject).  Click Next.

- On the 'Select Change Tracking' page, select Next.

- Select the appropriate Fill-Text Catalog in the 'Select full-test catalog' field. The _X value must match the _X value of the Table Name. For example, if the Table Name is tblIntAnalysedItems_5, the Full-Text Catalog should be DataFullTextIndex_<DA Customer Name>_5. Click Next.

- Do not edit any further settings. Click Next through the remaining windows. Click Finish at the last window.

- Monitor the Progress by running the attached query.  The items will first be placed in the Missing items column.  The four count columns; Missing Items, Failed Count, Active Docs Processing and Items Pending Change will be 0 when the population of the FTI is complete.

To Rebuild the FTI for tblIntItemCustomAttributes_X:
1. Right-click the tblIntItemCustomAttributes_X Table > Full-Text Index > Properties.

2. Select the Columns page. This Index does not have a Primary Index and only uses a Unique Index. Verify the Unique Index is selected, this Index name starts with "UQ_" . Note the selected items in 'Available Columns'. These will need to be re-selected/re-entered in the next steps.
Note: 'Language For Word Breaker' will automatically populate upon completion of the rebuild.

3. Right-click the tblIntItemCustomAttributes_X Table > Full-Text Index > click on Delete Full-Text Index. Respond accordingly to the prompt to delete the FTI. Close the status window upon deletion completion.

4. Right-click the tblIntItemCustomAttributes_X Table > Full-Text Index > Define Full-Text Index. This will start the FTI Wizard:
- Click Next at the FTI Wizard starting page.

- Select the Unique Index as the Unique Index ( Starts with "UQ_" ), click Next.

- Select the 'Available Column' items as previously noted in step 2 above. Click Next.

- On the 'Select Change Tracking' page, select Next.

- Select the appropriate Fill-Text Catalog in the 'Select full-test catalog' field. The _X value must match the _X value of the Table Name. For example, if the Table Name is tblIntItemCustomAttributes_5, the Full-Text Catalog should be DataFullTextIndex_<DA Customer Name>_5. Click Next.

- Do not edit any further settings. Click Next through the remaining windows. Click Finish at the last window.

- Monitor the Progress by running the attached query.  The items will first be placed in the Missing items column.  The four count columns; Missing Items, Failed Count, Active Docs Processing and Items Pending Change will be 0 when the population of the FTI has successfully completed.
