The NetBackup 7.1 SQL Agent GUI crashes when attempting to set SQL server connection properties.
From Window's Application Event Logs:
Error 6/17/2011 4:20:02 PM Application Error 1000 (100)
Faulting application name: dbbackup.exe, version: 7.1.2011.203, time stamp: 0x4d4b2339
Faulting module name: NBCTRLU.dll, version: 7.1.2011.203, time stamp: 0x4d4b20c9
From the dbclient log, the faulting dbbackup.exe ends recording the following log entries:
16:20:01.338 [3120.2480] <4> CGlobalInformation::SQLEnumerator: INF - Error enumerating SQL Server instances.
16:20:01.338 [3120.2480] <4> CGlobalInformation::IsDefaultInstanceInstalled: INF - Database Instance: SQLTEST
16:20:01.338 [3120.2480] <4> CGlobalInformation::SQLEnumerator: INF - Hosts and instances retrieved from host list string
Previous versions of the NBU SQL agent GUI work fine.
This problem only manifests itself in envrionments where there is not DEFAULT SQL instance installed. That is, all SQL instances are NAMED instances.
Please apply NetBackup 18.104.22.168 and apply NB_22.214.171.124_ET2563297_1.zip attached to this document:
