Replication is slow on networks with transient problems

Solution

Enhancements to the VERITAS Volume Replicator (VVR) flow control algorithms have been implemented in incident #76522.  The changes include adjusting the flow control parameters dynamically based on time instead of the number of packets and resending only lost packets instead of the entire message. They will be available in VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM) 3.1.1 patch 03 and VxVM 3.2 patch 01.

There are 3 point patches for this incident. The first one is for VERITAS Storage Replicator for Volume Manager (SRVM) 3.0.2 running on Solaris 2.6, and also contains the fix for incident 76466.  The second one is for VVR 3.1.1 patch 02 running on Solaris 2.6, 7 and 8, and also contains the fix for incidents 58107 and 76466.  The third one is for VVR 3.1 patch 02 running on HP-UX 11.0.
