Restore of Enterprise Search Center and FAST Search Center of SharePoint Server 2010 can fail

When restoring a site collection of SharePoint Server 2010 using Granular Restore Technology (GRT), the following error is reported for a site created with Enterprise Search Center or FAST Search Center templates.

 


Error



V-79-57344-871 - Backup Exec cannot restore a Sharepoint Site. Ensure that the logon account has the proper credentials, and then try again.

 


Environment



Backup Exec 2010 R2 or later

Agent for Microsoft SharePoint Server

Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010

Site of Enterprise Search Center template and/or FAST Search Center template

 


Solution



A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned in this article. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related Documents at the end of this article to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.

 

Backup Exec 2012 Rev 1798 Service Pack 3 (TECH205351).

 

Workaround

Perform the Disaster Recovery scenario documented in the Administrators Guide instead of GRT.
