Problem
Prior to the release of Cumulative Patches (CPS), most hotfixes that were needed required contact with Symantec Technical Services. Depending on the issue that is being experienced, the requirement for interaction can increase downtime or delay the movement of servers into a production environment.

CPs are installed using VxHFBatchInstaller and they can be installed in two modes using the command line interface (CLI):
- Verbose installation prompts for inputs and displays the installation progress status in the CLI.
- Non-verbose installation is a silent installation. The installer does not prompt for inputs and directly proceeds with the installation tasks. The installer displays the installation progress status in the CLI.
For specific installation instructions, please review the Readme file that is listed on each of the 3 aforementioned links above and that is also included in the CP download after it is extracted.
