These errors are logged on Enterprise Vault server every 5 minutes:

Description: The EnterpriseVault.DirectoryService object reported an error. Initialization failed because of an invalid line in the configuration file %1. The invalid line is the data.

Environment



The above error could occur in environments where the Vault Cache is enabled for Exchange mailboxes.

Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned at the end of this article. Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.

This issue is currently under investigation by Symantec Corporation. Pending the outcome of the investigation, this issue may be resolved by way of a patch or hotfix in current or future revisions of the software. In some circumstances a Vault Cache reset has helped to suppress the errors (refer to the technote  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH71311 about "How to Reset Vault Cache from an Outlook Client"), however this should be performed only after have consulted someone of the backline team.
