Error "Unable to copy the virtual machine disk using the VMware VixDiskLib" during AVVI backups to a Deduplication Storage Folder
Debug of the issue shows the following message: "clearing old write connection 0x0000000002B4C0B0 for /BEData/STHVMDK/IMG000022/Server.vmdk.img"
This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2010 R3 Hotfix 159965.
Note: Incorrect use of the Windows Registry Editor can have disastrous results on a server operating system. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows Registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the Registry Editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.
- Open Regedit (Start > Run > Regedit.exe)
- Go to HKLM\Software\Symantec\PureDisk\PDVFS
- Add/Create a new DWORD
- Name Value: TaskCloseWait
- Data Value (DEC): 3600
- Close Regedit to save the configuration
- Re-run the backup
