Problem

The second incremental backup of Exchange data to may fail with "Cannot log on to MAPI with the specified credentials." when sent to a Deduplication Storage Folder

Error

Error in the Job log:

0xe00002fe - Cannot log on to MAPI with the specified credentials. (V-79-57344-766)

Error in Remsrv.log

ERROR::RC = -1811 - -1811 The file was not found.

Environment

Exchange 2003 backup to a Deduplication Storage Folder

Solution

Workaround:

If GRT is required for fulls AND incrementals, backup to b2d. Otherwise disable GRT on the incremental backups to the deduplication storage folder.

Solution:

This issue has been resolved in Backup Exec 2010 R3.
