When attempting to activate Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1 license using the Serial number, the error - No connection. [0x120b0000] - is displayed

Following the License Activation wizard for the serial number:
Admin > Licenses > Activate license > Activate a new license > I have a serial number


Solution



Should this error appear, use this alternative way to install the license:

In the email received with the SEP 12.1 serial number there is the option to the download of the license file (.slf).

1. Save the license file into the machine
2. Unzip the license file
3. In the License Activation Wizard select I have a Symantec License file (.slf)

Admin > Licenses > Activate license > Activate a new license > I have a Symantec License file (.slf)

4. Select Next

Select Add file (browse for the file)
6. Select the license file and complete the wizard.
