Problem
After importing and activating Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 component layers on a Windows 7 machine running Symantec Workspace Virtualization (SWV) 6.1 Service Pack (SP) 7 build 1266, the Office Source Engine (OSE) exists and the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\FSLX\Parameters\FSL\Service\OSE node has a value of 2.
After rebooting, the OSE service still exists; however, the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\FSLX\Parameters\FSL\Service\OSE node now has a value of 0.
Deactivate one component layer, and the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ose node no longer exists.
Deactivate another component layer, and that layer will now have a registry delete entry in its writable section.
Process monitor showed that the services.exe is deleting these keys.
SWV 6.1.5126 does not have this issue.
Environment
Windows 7 32 bit SP1, SWV 6.4.1266
Cause
A problem was found with SWV's driver service reference count.
Solution
This issue has been addressed in SWV 6.4.1346 which is a Beta version of the next SWV release.
