How to Install this hotfix:
To be performed on the Windows 2008 file server:
1. Download the attached file and extract the contents to a folder on the file server.
2. Take a backup of the following files:
EvPlaceholderService.exe located in the EV install folder (default to C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault)
Evmf.sys located at C:\Windows\system32\drivers
3. Stop the Enterprise Vault Placeholder Service.
4. Go to the command prompt and run the following command.
fltmc unload evfilter
5. Copy the EvPlaceholderService.exe file from the contents of the extracted folder to EV installation folder:
6. Copy the extracted Evmf.sys file to C:\Windows\system32\drivers.
7. Go to the command prompt and run the following command:
fltmc load evfilter
8. Start the Enterprise Vault Placeholder Service.
How to Uninstall this hotfix:
1. Locate the backup of the original 9.0 SP2 files:
EvPlaceholderService.exe
Evmf.sys
2. Stop the Enterprise Vault Placeholder Service.
3. Go to the command prompt and run the following command:
fltmc unload evfilter
4. Copy the EvPlaceholderService.exe file from the backup location folder to EV installation folder:
5. Copy the Evmf.sys file from the backup location folder to C:\Windows\system32\drivers.
6. Go to the command prompt and run the following command:
fltmc load evfilter
7. Start the Enterprise Vault Placeholder Service.
