Problem
When attempting to execute a 'Run Script' task with the Advanced Option to 'Save script output with task status' enabled on a client machine in automation, the error occurs.
Error
'The interpretor for "Command Script" is not installed, or has not been added to the command path'
OR
'An error occurred while attempting to launch the script'
Cause
The base task handlers built in to the PECTAgent in the automation environment are out of date.
Solution
Integrate the two up-to-date Task Handler .dll files into the PECTAgent build.
Copy the Base Task Handlers from:
"C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Agent Tasks\BaseTaskHandlers.dll"
to:
"C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Deployment\Task Handler\bootwiz\oem\DS\winpe2\x86\Base\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Agent Tasks\BaseTaskHandlers.dll"
Copy the Core Task Agent from:
"C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Client Task Agent\Client Task Agent.dll"
to:
"C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Deployment\Task Handler\bootwiz\oem\DS\winpe2\x86\Base\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Client Task Agent.dll"
*Note: be sure the Production Agent on the source machine is the latest installed version on the NS. The agent version can be seen listed in the 'Symantec Management Agent Settings' pane in the Agent UI, and the installed NS version can be found by opening the Symantec Installation Manager.
