Enterprise Vault Discovery Collector (EVDC) cannot connect to the Enterprise Vault Directory Service.

Problem
Enterprise Vault Discovery Collector (EVDC) cannot connect to the Enterprise Vault Directory Service.
Error
From the Trace log on the EVDC server:
[6754][Jul 29, 2011 11:20:40][TRACE=1][agent][agent][dfagent/agentcomm.py:61]: AgentCommunicationsManager._infoFailed: Connection was refused by other side: 111: Connection refused. [27500][Jul 30, 2011 02:00:03][TRACE=2][jobs][steps]: Content Data Synchronizer skipping evserver1.evlab.local:ev902 as it does not need synchronization (42048).
From the evaultconnector log on the EVDC server:
java.lang.Exception: Unable to getContentManagementAPI from evault.evlab.local : org.jinterop.dcom.common.JIException: An internal error occurred. [0x8001FFFF]
From the AppServer.out log on the EVDC server:

Environment
- Enterprise Vault Discovery Collector installed, configured and run to collect data
- Enterprise Vault for Microsoft Exchange (or Lotus Domino) installed afterward.
- Microsoft Windows 2003 or greater domain with NTLMv2 authentication enabled.
Cause
This issue is caused by NTLMv2 authentication being used in the Windows environment.
NTMLv2 authentication is not supported in the following versions of EVDC:
- 9.0 OR
- 9.0 SP1
- 9.0 SP2
- 10.0 OR
Solution
Workaround for all versions related to this document:
Revert back to NTLMv1 authentication.
