Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 is blocking Check Point VPN Client

Issue



After upgrading from Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) Small Business Edition (SBE) 12.0 to Symantec Endpoint Protection  (SBE) 12.1 on Windows 7 SP1 32-bit and 64-bit computer(s), the Check Point VPN software is no longer able to connect.


Error



Event viewer shows:

Event ID 7034 - 8/4/11 4:20 PM - Error - Service Control Manager - N/A - The Check Point Endpoint Security service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 3 time(s).

Check Point Endpoint Protection Security Trace logs (TrGUI.log) show:

Solution
