Issue accessing Quickbooks on a remote computer after installing unmanaged SEP 12.1 client

Issue



It appears that the Quickbooks software on the computer is set up to allow shared access to the company file, but the Quickbooks software on the computer is not able to communicate with it


Error



This could be caused due to a firewall ,in case , a firewall is enabled on the network

 


Solution



 


On an unmanaged client:
1. On the client console, click on "CHANGE SETTINGS"
2. Go to NTP, click on "CONFIGURE SETTINGS"
3. On the NTP settings page, you will find an option for "UNMATCHED IP TRAFFIC"
4. Change it to "ALLOW ALL IP"
Then try to access Quickbooks, you will able to open it successfully

On a managed client:
Add the firewall rules from the SEPM to allow the IP traffic from the Firewall Policy of the SEPM
