Problem
Backup Exec 2010 R3 Granular (GRT) backups of Sharepoint data, written to disk and with or without the Advanced Open File Option (AOFO) enabled, may fail with '0xe0001602 - Access is denied (Share point backup). No granular restore selections will be left for the Content DBs of this job.
This has been seen for data from Sharepoint 2003, Sharepoint 2007, and Sharepoint 2010.
Error
Final error: 0xe0001602 - Access is denied (Share point backup).
Final error category: Security Errors

Additionally, at the bottom of the backup set for the content database will be the message:
This backup set may not contain any data.

Solution
Important Note: This Technote describes an issue where backups fail with or without AOFO/VSS enabled. If the backup job ONLY fails when AOFO / VSS is enabled in the backup job then see Technote 163882.
