Problem
We see an "Unknown server" listed as a DLO maintenance server under
Error
There is no specific error.
The DLO admin console may freeze or become unresponsive after performing certain administrative tasks.
Environment
Applies to NetBackup DLO and Backup Exec DLO with multiple remote Maintenance servers on Windows 2008
Cause
The DLO administration server was losing connectivity to the remote Windows maintenance server.
Access to admin shares on the remote Windows maintenance server was not possible (example: \\<hostname>\c$)
Solution
The problem was resolved after installing Service Pack 1 of Windows 2008 R2
If the problem persists, check if Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 installed on the remote server. SEP 11.0 has a known issue with accessing network shares. Refer the article below for a fix.
