Problem
USB is disabled under SEP's application and device control (ADC) policy.
An exception for Ironkey USB drive is raised (IRON KEY-Worlds Most Secured Flash Drive)
User unable to use his IRONKEY USB pendrive.
Error
The Device is Blocked
Environment
ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:
No. of SEP: 20
No. of SEPM: 1
OS on SEPM : Windows Server 2003 Std R2
OS on SEP: Windows XP Pro(32-bit)
Product & Version: 12.0.1
Scan engine: N/A
Virus Defs: N/A
Cause
The entire USB Class is Blocked.
( Note : Generic CD/DVD is also blocked
Solution
The device instance ID for IRONKEY is matching to Generic CD/DDVD
Hence for the IRONKEY USB Drive to work, we need to raise an exception for the Generic CD-ROM Drive.
Once the exception is raised, update the policy on the SEP client machines.
The IRONKEY USB Drive will now be detected and will be reaady to use
