The Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client installation rolls back at creating install cache on windows 7 32bit machine.

Cause



Issue with the roaming profile.


Solution



1 - Backed up the registry before proceeding further.
2 - Open Registry Editor
3 - Browse to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
4 - Select the Expandable String Value 'AppData' and change the value from %APPDATA% to : %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
5 - Close the registry editor

6 - The SEP client will now install successfully.
