The post processing of archived items slows down until eventually stopping completely. As a result pending items build up in the mailboxes as they are not being post processed by the StorageFileWatch process.
No error messages are logged in the Event Logs.
The following line in a dtrace of the StorageFileWatch process can be a clue to the problem occurring:
CCenteraItemSecuredVerifier::CheckItem Warning: Watch file partition scan will be stopped for following EMC Centera partition as consecutive clips have not been replicated.|Partition Name = [Journal Store SYMPartition Ptn1] |VaultStoreEntryId = [1AC31098FBCFBB144ACF283392415D42A1210000sym.local.com].
The problem has been reported under the following conditions
- Enterprise Vault 9.0.1
- Enterprise Vault 9.0.2
- A Centera Storage device is in use with Primary and Secondary nodes
- Remove safety copies is set to "After backup"
During the post processing of items, if the Centera partition scan finds 10 consecutive saveset that have not been replicated, the scan of the partition is abandoned to allow the Centera Replication to catch up
