SQL database redirected restore operations fail with an error indicating that the resource is on an unsupported network device.
Restore: V-79-65323-5110 - An error occurred on a query to database PRD.
V-79-65323-5110 - File '\\Server\H$\temp\data1.mdf' is on a network device not supported for database files.
A share name was entered for the path to restore database to, instead of the local volume drive letter that the share belonged to.
To resolve the issue, modify the restore job as follows:
1. Go to the Microsoft SQL redirect restore options
2. Select the local drive letter of the SQL server that you want the database restored to
3. Select the "Even if the original drive exists" option
Note: Do not type in the UNC path to the share of that drive.
File '\\Server\H$\temp\data1.mdf' is on a network device not supported for database files.
