Problem
How to configure an unmanaged Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1 client to use a proxy for LiveUpdate.
An unmanaged SEP client cannot update definitions via LiveUpdate due to a proxy being used.
Environment
The unmanaged SEP client uses a proxy to reach the Symantec LiveUpdate servers.
Solution
To configure the LiveUpdate proxy settings on an unmanaged client:
- Open the SEP client interface on the computer.
- Click "Change Settings" on the left side.
- In the "Client Management" section click the "Configure Settings" button.
- Go to the "LiveUpdate" tab.
- Click the "Configure Proxy Options..." button at the bottom.
- Set your desired proxy options, then click OK.
