Problem
Backups are failing with error message .
Error
Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of (C:\).Warning AC8F1FCC: The type of errors encountered indicate that this hard disk drive is about to fail. It is recommended that this drive be replaced soon. To ignore this error and backup this drive, select "Ignore bad sectors during copy" from the advanced options in the Drive Backup Wizard.Error E0BB0083: Unable to create incremental recovery point. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071)
Cause
It is suspected bad disk geometry. Review the related links for additional causes.
Solution
To determine if disk geometry is the issue do the following:
For example :
Disk Geometry Information for Disk 1 Sector Count: 1,331,200 (82 Cylinders, 255 Heads, 63 Sectors/Track)
Signature: 182A8908
Detected Sector Size: 512
Detected Alignment: None

3. Use a file base backup utility (e.g. NTbackup) to create a backup of the data on the drive.
4. See if disabling the drive within the BIOS, reboot back into the BIOS and force a redetection properly then detect the partitions on this drive.
5. If step 4 fails, rebuild the file structure on the disk, and then restore the drive's data from step 1's backup.
