Problem
When trying to create a PGP Portable Disk, you receive the following error and the shortcut to create PGP Portable Disks is not available:
Error: This application cannot run because PGP Portable is disabled on this machine. Please check your PGP installation and setup.
Error
Cause
This error occurs if the creation of PGP Virtual Disks on PGP Universal Server is disabled.
Solution
To resolve this issue, the creation of PGP Virtual Disks must be enabled in the Consumer Policy on PGP Universal Server.
1. Log in to the PGP Universal Server admin interface.
2. Click Consumers > Consumer Policy.
3. Select the desired policy and then click Desktop in the PGP Desktop section.
4. Click the Disk Encryption tab and place a checkmark next to PGP Virtual Disk.
5. Click Save.
After updating the Consumer Policy, you will be able to create PGP Portable Disks.
