Problem

The client name passed to backup_exit_notify script at the end of a backup job can be incorrect for VMWare Intelligent Policy (VIP) backup policy jobs.  Instead of the name of the VM being backed up, the VMWare Backup Host name is passed to backup_exit_notify script.

Solution

The formal resolution to this issue (Etrack 2525045) is available in the following release:

  • NetBackup 7.1 Maintenance Release 3 (7.1.0.3)
