Issue

You are using AIX 6.1 OS with version 3 of SNMP.  The SNMP checks in the Network Integrity module are not recognizing that you have SNMP version 3 enabled.

Error

'No configuration file found for SNMP  The configuration file for snmp (snmpd.conf) was not found. Enter the path for this file in the option 'SNMP config file path'

Environment

AIX 6.1

Cause

The Network Integrity module's SNMP checks are coded to work with the snmpd.conf file and are not targeting the snmpdv3.conf file that ships with AIX 6.1.

Solution

Currently there is no solution as of September 26, 2011.  Symantec is working on a fix for the Network Integrity module to work with the new file name for SNMP configuration.
