KNOWN ISSUE: Altiris Deployment Solution 6.9 is missing properties information for HP T5550 Thin Client running Windows CE

Problem
The Hewlett Packard (HP) Windows CE 6.0 Thin Client (TC) connection to Deployment Server (DS) is successful and will be included in the managed systems list. After clicking the hardware properties then 'hardware' tab there is missing information.
The Altiris Deployment Solution Console properties for HP T5550 TC does not include the following information:
- Manufacturer
- Model
- Product Name
- Serial Number
- Asset Tag
- UUID
- BIOS Version
- BIOS Release Date
Environment
DS 6.9 SP3 and later (most likely earlier as well)
Cause
Because of an SMBIOS change for this thin client, the CE Agent did not read the SMBIOS buffer properly
Solution
The CE Agent now reads the SMBIOS buffer properly.
DAgentCE 6.9.503 addresses this issue and is attached to this article.
Download and extract the attached TECH170546_dagentce_6_9_503.zip file (containing the altiris-dagentce-6.9.503.X86.exe & altiris-daceservice-6.9.503.X86.dll files) to the ".\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\Agents\CEAgent\ directory. If the "Automatically update clients" option is enabled via the Transport tab of the DS control panel applet options, then this will allow the existing CE Agent to be updated the next time the TC connects to the DS.
NOTE: This agent has been tested on DS 6.9 SP5 and SP5 MR1. The agent may work without problem on prior versions, however is unsupported.
