Issue



Client executes the Windows System Assessment Scan and fails.


Error



Warning:

  • Can't open 'LanmanServer' service (error=1060).

Errors:

  • Message='Error: 105- Unable to get System data. Possibly an admin rights issue Scan not performed.'.
  • Assessment results exception: Error: 105- Unable to get System data. Possibly an admin rights issue Scan not performed..
  • Message='Patch assessment failed' (ExitCode=4)

Environment



Patch Management 7.1 SP1


Cause



Windows System Assessment Scan requires the install / run of the LanMan Server Service.


Solution



Windows System Assessment Scan will complete if the LanMan Server Service is installed and running.

This dependency will be removed in a future version of Patch Management to be released in Q1 2012.
