While running a backup to a shared folder created on a linux based NAS device, Symantec System Recovery(SSR) returns the following error and the backup fails at 5%.
Incorrect Security and Permission settings on the NAS device.
1. Change the Security Mode of the NAS to "User" instead of "Share"
2. Make sure that the user account defined in the backup job has full permissions on the NAS device.
3. If the above solution does not work, make the NAS device a member of the domain.
Note: If the NAS device has to be set up in a workgroup, Contact the NAS manufacturer to check on the way to enter the UNC path with credentials to the NAS device while it is in a workgroup environment and the systems accessing it on a domain.
