Problem
Attempting to open the "Symantec Barcode Console Application" fails with one of the following errors:
- Unable to create object store at "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Barcode Manager\Data" or any defined path
- Access to the database file is not allowed. [File Name = ]

Barcode Solution 7.1 and later
Cause
This is caused by a lack of permissions to the folder that will be used to store the local compact database.
Solution
There are two possible solutions:
- Change the permissions for the path shown in the error to allow users the ability to write to that location.
