Symantec Critical System Protection (SCSP) Client 5.2.8 keeps crashing on Windows 2003 agents

After upgrading to SCSP 5.2.8 the SCSP client is unable to start.


SCSP IPS service is taking longer to start on these servers but Symantec is unable to determine root cause  

Possible cause:

Possibly there are many high priority services starting at that time on this system and SCSP service does not get sufficient CPU time to respond to Service Control Manager in 30 second. 


Workaround Solution:

Increase the default timeout value(30 seconds) for the Service Control Manager to a high value to 60 sec (60000 milsec). NOTE: This modification requires a reboot.

timeout for all the services.
