When performing FullVM restores the following errors maybe seen in the Problems Report "get_win_path: Bad file path /\\.\VMFILE0"

Problem



The following will be seen in the problems report and bprd when performing a FullVM restore of a virtual machine:

get_win_path: Bad file path /\\.\VMFILE0
dbm_cleanup: db_end_sts failed: the requested operation was successfully completed 0

Error



Problems report:

Error 0     General     get_win_path: Bad file path /\\.\VMFILE0
Error 0     General     dbm_cleanup: db_end_sts failed: the requested operation was successfully completed 0

 


Solution



This error may be safely ignored as it is just a warning, but logged at an incorrect severity level.  The restore will complete successfully and the data will be intact.

The formal resolution to this issue (Etrack 2599126) is included in the following release:

  • NetBackup 7.1 Maintenance Release 4 (7.1.0.4)

In NetBackup 7.1.0.4 and above, these messages log at the correct severity and do not appear in the Problems Report.
