Technical Solution

The clients were not able to communicate with the SEPM.

After deploying the client the green dot would be seen for a second and then it disappears.

Found in the Sylink log:

11/15 17:39:48 [1732] <ParseHTTPStatusCode:>503=>503 SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE
11/15 17:39:48 [1732] HTTP returns status code=503

2003 Standard Editon.

Xp clients laptops.

11.0.6 MP3 SEPM and SEP.

We checked in the IIS and we found out that there were 2 Symantec web servers

1. Default web server which had all the componets of the Symantec web server

2. Normal Symantec Web Server.

1.Go to the add remove programs in the control panel.

2.Select Add remove windows component.

3.Uninstall IIS and then reboot the machine and then reinstall IIS.

4.Repair the SEPM so it gets reconfigured with the IIS.

This will resolve the issue.
