Problem
When trying to enroll a client that was previously enrolled you receive the error "An error occurred: Item already exists".
Error

Cause
This error can occur due to the following reasons:
- A PGP key exists for the user on PGP Universal Server and it is a different key mode than the one being used when trying to enroll with.
- The keymode for the key on PGP Universal Server has been disabled.
Example: The user's key present on PGP Universal Server is an SKM key, but in the user's policy (Consumer Policy > Under Key Management), SKM is disabled.
Solution
To resolve this issue, use one of the following:
- Enable the SKM keymode in the user's Consumer Policy and then try to enroll the user.
- Set the key mode for the user to match the existing key on PGP Universal Server.
