Issue

After copying files from a workstation running Mac OS 10.4.x and Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) for Mac 11.x to a Common Internet File System (CIFS) share on a different server, it may appear that some files have not been copied.

This creates a concern about whether or not the files have been properly scanned by SEP.

Environment

  • Client: Mac OS 10.4.x
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection for Macintosh 11.x
  • CIFS share in the network

Solution

This behaviour does not represent a defect in the product and files are not skipped from the copy.
Instead, it has been observed through in house investigations that it's more likely a cosmetic issue on Mac OS 10.4 rather than SEP.

In order to resolve the problem, just refresh the contents displayed on the destination window from the Mac OS client workstation and all files will be visible.
