Problem

File Resources fail to merge during Replication due to time-outs in the merge process.

Error

Status Code: -2147418113, Unable to import the specified object

As well, you may see this message rather than the one above:

"Merge Specified Duplicate Resources…Timeout expired."

Cause

This is a known issue.

Solution

An update through SIM(Symantec Installation Manager) provides the fix for this issue. The update is Inventory Solution 7.1 SP2 HF1.

If you are unable to apply the update, a manual fix can be used for version 7.1 SP2 "Fix_eTrack2593307_tr_Inv_App_Meter_Policy.sql".

Execute this SQL against the Symantec_CMDB database.
